Aion 2, the highly anticipated sequel from NCSoft, has been making waves in the gaming world. As of now, the game is live in Korea and Taiwan, with a global release planned for late 2026. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at the current server regions and what to expect when the game goes global.

Current Playable Regions (Korea & Taiwan)

Since November 2025, Aion 2 has been available to players in South Korea and Taiwan. While these regions were initially the only ones to have access, they’ve become a hotspot for players from around the world who want to get a head start on the game before its global release.

Taiwan (TW)

Taiwan is the go-to choice for most international players. It's relatively easy to access and doesn’t require a lot of verification steps. To start playing, all you need is a valid email address — no mobile phone verification necessary.

Some popular English-speaking servers in Taiwan include Bai Jieer/Vaizel and Trinelle, which have built strong English-speaking communities. These servers have become the unofficial gathering spots for players from outside the region.

South Korea (KR)

While South Korea offers the most populated servers and the fastest meta shifts, it’s a bit more difficult for international players to access. To register, you need a valid South Korean mobile phone number, and there are often region-locks that require the use of a VPN to bypass. This makes it less accessible but still an option for those who are willing to put in the effort.

For players based outside of Korea, the benefit of KR servers is that they tend to be more up-to-date with content and feature a highly competitive PvP scene.

Official Global Regions (Coming Late 2026)

With the global release slated for late 2026, Aion 2 will be expanding its reach to new regions across the world. The game will be available on both Steam and the PURPLE launcher, with dedicated servers for each of the following regions:

North America

Players in North America can expect server locations in Virginia (East) and Oregon (West). These servers will help reduce latency for players in North America, allowing for smoother gameplay and a better overall experience.

Europe

Aion 2 will have localized servers across major European hubs. Players in the region will be able to access the game with minimal ping issues, ensuring that they can enjoy a seamless experience.

South America

A dedicated server will be hosted in Sao Paulo, Brazil. This server will cater to players in South America, ensuring they have a stable and low-latency connection for optimal gameplay.

Japan

Japan will also have a dedicated server to minimize latency for players in the region. This local hosting will ensure that Japanese players get the best experience with minimal lag.

Choosing Your Region

When it comes to selecting a region to play in, there are a few factors to consider. Here are some of the key things to think about before you dive into Aion 2’s expansive world.

Latency (Ping)

For competitive PvP, ping is crucial. Ideally, you want a ping under 100ms. If you're located in North America or Europe, you may find more stable connections on Taiwanese servers compared to Korean ones, which may have higher latency due to the region locks.

If you’re playing casually or in PvE modes, a slightly higher ping might not affect your experience as much, but for intense, fast-paced PvP matches, lower ping is always preferred.

Language Support

The global version of Aion 2 will support 10 languages, including English, French, and German. However, the current Taiwanese and Korean versions are mostly localized for their respective regions, meaning you’ll encounter a lot of content in Chinese and Korean.

English community patches are available for both regions, but they may not always be up-to-date. If you're keen on playing in English, you’ll have to rely on these community-driven efforts until the official global version launches.

Account Verification

If you're looking to get in early and play on Taiwanese servers, it's the easiest option for international players. The registration process is simple and doesn't require much verification beyond an email.

On the other hand, registering for the South Korean servers is more complicated. You'll need a Korean mobile phone number, and sometimes a VPN to access the game. Additionally, some players resort to purchasing Korean accounts, but this can come with risks like account bans if the purchase is detected as a violation of the game’s terms.

Whether you're looking to jump into the early action on Taiwan or plan to wait for the global release, there’s a lot to look forward to in Aion 2. Each server region offers different benefits, from easier access in Taiwan to faster content updates in South Korea. With dedicated servers coming to North America, Europe, South America, and Japan in late 2026, the game will soon be more accessible than ever.
